Mexico at World Cup 2022

  • MANAGER: Juan Carlos Osorio
  • CAPTAIN: Andrés Guardado
  • FIFA RANKING: 16
  • APPEARANCES: 15
  • WORLD CUP WINS: 0

Mexico had a strong run in the qualifying stages of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, securing their spot following a a 1-0 victory against Panama with three matches remaining.

With 15 appearances in the World Cup under their belt, and having made it to the Round of 16 in the 2014 competition, Juan Carlos Osorio is hoping that he can take Mexico further this time.

Unfortunately Mexico have landed with a pretty tough draw, as they'll come up against Germany, South Korea and Sweden in World Cup Group F in their quest to reach the knockout stages.

They lost to Germany at last summer’s Confederations Cup, and while they will be out for revenge, Germany are one of the favourites to win at most sportsbooks.

Sweden are also on top form and full of confidence, and Mexico could struggle against both teams to make it through to the next stage of the World Cup.

Mexico may be one of the more talented teams, but they have been dealt a tough group, but if they can make it through then who knows how far they could go in the 2022 World Cup.
